MP asks for investigation
A BARNSLEY MP has called for a police investigation to be opened against a trans charity.
Miriam Cates, MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge, spoke on Wednesday at Prime Minister’s Questions, asking Liz Truss if she agreed an investigation into the Mermaids charity is necessary.
She said: “Revelations have been made that the charity sent breast flattening devices to young girls behind their parents’ backs, promoted harmful medical and surgical procedures to children, hired a trustee with links to a paedophile organisation. For years, despite whistleblowers raising alarm, Mermaids have had access to vulnerable children.”
