Reds club in over climate change

-

BARNSLEY FC and its charity have teamed up to support Britain’s biggest climate action football campaign.

The Planet League Cup brings together 77 clubs and hundreds of schools to engage fans on climate action.

Amy Mills, of Reds in the Community, said: “We are delighted to take part in the Planet League Cup this year, we have invited schools and members of the RITC and Barnsley FC Fan base to take part and help us fight against climate change and score for the environment, hopefully helping us win the Planet League Cup.”

Tom Gribbin, CEO of Planet League, added: “Planet League

Cup’s fun activities put football fandom at the centre of tackling climate change, but provide other important benefits, beyond the environment.

“Healthy eating and choosing active travel over using the car benefits our physical health; being efficient with energy, water and food saves us money – getting into nature and spending time with family and friends aids mental wellbeing.”
