No-one listening

- J DANKS, Kexborough

It was bitterly disappointing to see that parking charges will be introduced at Langsett Barn.

Despite clear objections from residents, businesses, councillors and the local MP – no-one has been listened to and the plans have been pushed through.

This can only cause trouble for the local area.

As we saw in lockdown, people were instead parking on an already-dangerous road whilst the car park was full.

This is all you’ll end up seeing now.

Mark my words, in the coming months you’ll see plenty more stories about near-misses and probably even fatalities from incidents on Manchester Road.

The Langsett Flouch application was dismissed, so why wasn’t this?

I’d like to thank those who voted against the application – it’s a huge shame they weren’t listened to.

I’m urging motorists to be careful when driving there from now on – it really could be a matter of life or death.
