St Paul’s

Last Sunday’s Mass was celebrated by Fr Michael Johnson, he was assisted at the Altar by Lynda Brown, Malcolm Patterson and Daisy Hirst. Organist was Robert Rowland. Bible readings were given by Janice Rees and Daphne Woffinden. The choir sang the Psalm. The Gospel was read by Fr Johnson who also gave the sermon. Prayers were led by Doreen Ibbeson.

The Mums and Toddlers’ group meets in the church hall each Monday 10-11.30am in school term time only. On Saturday December 10 there will be a concert in the church given by Flutes Galore. Tickets are £7 which includes a glass of wine and a mince pie. The concert starts at 6pm.

Chapel

The morning service last Sunday was led by Mrs Linda Mellor. The Bible readings were given by Mrs Jean Elvin. The organist was Rosemary Denman. The 27th Guides meet on Tuesdays from 5.45-7.15pm and yoga takes place from 7-8pm. Hartbeeps meet on Wednesdays from 10am-3.30pm. There is the One Stop Shop from 9.4511am on Thursday. U3A Dancing takes place on Fridays from 7-9pm. The service this Sunday at 10.30am will be led by Miss Mar y Reason.

Sun

Playing in the Wednesday night Smithies league, the Sun beat New Lodge Club 4-3. Speed quiz every Friday from 8pm, last week’s winners were Tommy Boy and Holly who scored 177 points. Saturday night’s entertainment is a F reddie Mercury Tribute. Sunday live at five is Stone Idols.

Club

Bingo is played every Thursday from 8.30pm. Entertainment this Saturday is 2 True on stage from 8.45pm and Sunday afternoon from 3.45pm is Beautifully Dangerous.
