Shadow skills minister visits new business hub at college

BARNSLEY College’s new business hub – which has been created to inspire start-ups and young entreprene­urs to set up in the town – was officially opened yesterday.

Shadow Minister for Further Education and Skills Toby Perkins was on hand to open the Falcon Street facility.

As the visit took place during Colleges Week, the MP highlighte­d the importance of local colleges and listened to the experience­s of staff and learners.

A college spokespers­on said: “The centre will be a new hub for entreprene­urs, small businesses and startup businesses.

“Its aim is to aid talented entreprene­urs to expand their business and access a huge network of local businesses and commercial guidance in partnershi­p with Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.”
