Improvements are noted at council

-

BARNSLEY Council has been named as the fourth-most improved local authority in Yorkshire and the Humber – seeing 43 per cent less complaints than it did five years ago.

The decrease from 2017 to 2022 has seen the council the fourth-most improved – behind Sheffield, North Lincolnshire and Scarborough.

Barnsley Council has also seen just 13.2 complaints per 10,000 residents – the 13th highest in the region.

More than 54 per cent of those complaints were upheld, whilst adult social care was the most common reason for complaints.
