Dachtler and Ling top-score

ISAAC Ling and Tobias Dachtler topscored for Barnsley Leaders in the Sheffield Hatters’ South Yorkshire Tournament.

The under 13s started with an 8-4 win against one of the Hatters teams but the other gained revenge with 6-5 victory. Barnsley beat Rotherham Hawks 15-6. Ling scored 18, with Denis Bildea adding four and there were two each for Harry Jones and Kian Tissington.

Gabriel Alecu, James Andrews and Caine Bagnall also played.

Leaders under 11s started with an 8-4 win against the Hotshots, then lost 12-6 to Rotherham Hawks A, followed by a 4-2 win against Rotherham Hawks B.

In their final game, the Hotshots turned the tables with a 14-8 win.

Dachtler top-scored with 12, Brianna Kuywayo and Joe Morris added four while there were two each for Lewis Fitzgerald, Charlie Jones and Seb Cunliffe. The other players were

Carter Nicoll, Harry Mitchell and Leon Pickering.

Barnsley Sports Academy Metros, based at Barnsley College, are now running under 14s and under 16s teams.

Senior sides Darfield and Barnsley Barbarians have both folded but Kingstone Knights play in the Sheffield Basketball League.
