Collections opening up

-

TWO collections for a local foodbank will return this year to help those in need.

The ‘Biker Christmas Collection’ and the ‘Tesco Christmas Collection’ will both be back to support Barnsley Foodbank Partnership.

The former sees bikers far and wide joining forces to donate items.

It follows on from the Easter collection which took place earlier on in the year.

The Tesco collection will return from December 1.

Food collection points will be available at each store in Penistone, Stairfoot and Hoyland – with details of their ‘most-needed’ items available in store.

A spokesperson added: “We are looking for volunteers to donate some time at the collection. Individuals usually pick two to three hour slots and the role consists of handing out leaflets, encouraging donations and representing our food bank.

“If you would like to volunteer at the collection, please contact adminsupport@barnsley. foodbank.org.uk or call 235280.

“By just sharing our posts and spreading the word about our collection, you’re still supporting us in this difficult time.”

More information can be found on the foodbank’s website.
