HIS SECOND SPELL AT BARNSLEY

Maybe we both got it wrong and were too emotional in both why I came back and why they asked me to come back.

It was always going to be tough. It wasn’t just down to their ‘Moneyball’ approach.

It was because there were a lot of players who weren’t wanted.

When they brought in players who were wanted as the future of club, they had a lot of success.

I have spoken to Michael Duff a few times and I think Barnsley have someone now at the helm who has an understanding of English football.

He understands the division.

If you want stability, sometimes that’s the approach you have to have.

Nicky has come full circle after coming through the youth system at Barnsley himself.

He has a good reputation as a coach and good knowledge.

He also knows the club and what the fans want.

He’s a great signing for the club. I am delighted he’s back in the Barnsley family again.

All he needed was gametime and somebody to believe in him. Someone like Michael will give him that.

Strikers always need confidence. His attitude was spot on and he always worked hard.

It was just a case of putting everything together which comes with experience.

Hopefully he is flourishing now.
