Ex-Forest Green Cadden ‘not worried’ about Reds form

-

NICKY Cadden is looking forward to facing his former club Forest Green Rovers tomorrow and says he doesn’t have ‘any worries’ about Barnsley despite their poor recent form.

The 26-year-old left wing-back spent two years with the Gloucestershire club, winning League Two last season before moving to the Reds.

Forest Green are currently third-bottom in League One ahead of their game at Oakwell.

Cadden told the Chronicle: “It will be good to see old faces.

“I am sure I will get some texts in the next couple of days.

“Their team has changed a wee bit. They have a few new players.

“But, if the gaffer wants help asking about how a player plays, I will help him.

“I just want three points. I don’t think too much about who it’s against.

“First and foremost, it is scoring a goal then we will start getting victories.

“We need to make it right.”

Barnsley are winless and goalless in their last four league matches, dropping down from fifth to ninth.

This week they lost 1-0 to both Morecambe and Lincoln.

Cadden said: “We know we need to do better in the final third.

“We need to have better quality.

“We have good players in there and, once it clicks, the goals will start coming.

“I don’t have any worries about us.

“It’s not concerning.

“We played well against Lincoln but didn’t get the result we wanted.

“We’re not worried, we just stick to the process.”

Cadden has started seven league games and come off the bench in two others, having recovered from an injury which kept him out in the early months.

“It was hectic at the start of the season It was the lack of running in pre-season. It was hectic off the field too, settling down in the area. I am settled now and enjoying it.”

Cadden is competing for his place on the left with loanee Ziyad Larkeche.

“In football, you will always have competition.

“Z has done well but I am not going to give that place up lightly.”
