Duff advises Norwood over FGR tweet

-

MICHAEL Duff ‘had a word’ with James Norwood after the striker’s tweet about Forest Green Rovers fans on Saturday.

Norwood, who used to play for Forest Green, was booed throughout the game by the away end and subjected to abusive chants. After the 2-0 home win, he tweeted: “Thanks to the 13 of you making the trip and for the three points.”

Head coach Duff said: “I have spoken to him about it. We had just won so there’s no need to get involved. Nothing positive could come out of it. To be fair, he agreed he didn’t need to do it. I understand he was getting abused for no reason.

“It wasn’t a dressing down, it was just advice. I am not his dad.”
