Restaurant hit with burglary

- By Elle Wakefield

A RESTAURANT has been rocked by another break-in – its fourth in as many years.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed Beatson House, on Darton Road, was targeted last week but no-one has been arrested.

Burglars broke a window during the raid, but got away empty handed.

Owner Nikki Cockayne told the Chronicle: “It is really frustrating for us small businesses during the current climate – we’ve had enough.

“We’ve previously had outdoor furniture and planters stolen but none of the surveillance cameras in the village have caught anything.

“In this instance, our burglary alarm scared them.

“We have to now cover the cost of the window broken which will have to be sent to a cabinet maker – their behaviour is bemusing really.

“We just want to reiterate that we keep no cash in store.”
