Reds 1, Dons 1 – March 19, 2005

This was the first Oakwell meeting of Barnsley and the club that replaced Wimbledon the previous year. Reds legend Danny Wilson was in charge of the Dons who stretched their unbeaten run to eight games with this result. Danny Nardiello put the hosts in front on the stroke of half-time then Cameroon internatio­nal Michel PenseeBilo­ng levelled ten minutes after the break.

Reds 2, Dons 0 – January 21, 2006

The two clubs would go out of the third tier in different directions that season. Promotion-bound Barnsley took the lead on 77 minutes through Marc Richards then Bobby Hassell doubled it seconds later.

Reds 1, Dons 2 – September 19, 2006

Andy Ritchie’s Barnsley were experienci­ng a difficult start to life in the second tier, and this EFL Cup loss to fourth tier MK did not help. Aaron Wilbraham put the visitors in front then, after Michael McIndoe levelled midway through the second half, Wilbraham won it in the 90th minute.

Reds 3, Dons 5 – September 13, 2014

Danny Wilson was back in the home dugout for this game as the high-flying visitors surged into a 5-0 lead, with future England star Dele Alli one of their scorers.

The hosts pulled three goals back in the final ten minutes with Conor Hourihane bagging a brace before Devante Cole also struck.
