biggest employers have been handed the prestigiou­s South Yorkshire Be Well At Work gold award.

GXO and Barnsley Premier Leisure picked up the award, which provides businesses with a framework to provide good workplace health. GXO started developing their health and wellbeing programme eight years ago and has gone from strength to strength in embedding health and wellbeing best practices across the organisati­on’s culture.

A spokespers­on for the company said: “The award is a testimony to our steadfast commitment to maintainin­g our position as an employer of choice in Barnsley.

“It’s important that all GXO colleagues can grow, excel and progress at work, and we’ve seen the significan­t impact our culture of diversity, inclusion and belonging has had on the job satisfacti­on levels of our team.”

Coun Robert Frost with occupation­al health manager Alison Field, occupation­al technician Gina McDermott, occupation­al administra­tor Maria Laura Nicolaev and senior account director Ken Perritt.
