Tonight Laura Smith will entertain and tomorrow ‘Beautifull­y Dangerous’ will entertain. Tuesday’s quiz winner was Lsd. The card was won by Toot. Steve won the head-to-head. Stand up bingo winner was Peter. Michael won play your cards right. Wednesday night bingo winners were Shirley, Elsie, Peter and Joyce. Raffle numbers were 411 and 370. Bonus ball was number 39 and total numbers were 12 and 24. Friday’s raffle was 98.

Singing Man

Live entertainm­ent on Sunday afternoon will be Johnny Guest from 4pm.

Shafton Community Centre

On Sunday, December 4 between 12-4pm at the Singing Man, pre booked tickets will be £6 per child for a Santa visit. Time slots must be booked before the day. Tickets might be available on the day for £8. This includes dancing, party games and a small gift from Santa. There will also be a prize for the best Christmas jumper, a tombola and stalls. Parish Church

Morning worship with baptism at 10.45am on Sunday will be led by the vicar, Rev Fiona Kouble. This will be followed at 4pm by The Well, a cafe style service for people of all ages at Darfield Church Hall. From Monday to Friday there will be morning prayer at 8.30am and night prayer at 9pm on the Christ Church Ardsley Facebook page. On Monday there will be craft and chat from 10am-midday with an invitation to take along some craft or just pop in for a cuppa. On Tuesday there will be a warm space in the acorn room at the back of the church from 9.30am-12.30pm for anyone who wishes to keep warm while saving on their own heating, and at the same time you can enjoy free tea and coffee with the availabili­ty of WiFi. Those attending can stay for a short time or the whole of the morning if they wish.

New social group

Every Thursday between 1-2.30pm we would like to meet new people and enjoy a game of bingo, exercise, crafts and music refreshmen­ts. Please come along and join us at Dog Hill Community Centre on Bedale Walk, Shafton.

Sewing group

Every Wednesday between 5-7pm at Dog Hill Day Centre on Sceptone Grove, the sewing group meets. Entry is £3 and includes refreshmen­ts and usage of sewing machines. Under 12s must be accompanie­d by an adult.

Knit and Natter

Every Wednesday we will be doing a knit and natter. Everyone is welcome. The group meets from 9.30-11.30am and there is also an art class, coffee and biscuits. This is held at Dog Hill Day Centre on Sceptone Grove.

Shafton Community Centre

Oaks WMC

Steve Redford’s team were back to winning ways in the weekly quiz at the Ardsley Oaks WMC last Thursday and this was followed by Play Your Cards Right with a jackpot of up to £200. Sunday’s open the box was won, which means that the prize money remains at £500 with 13 keys available. Entertainm­ent this weekend starts tonight with Northern Soul Night featuring a guest DJ, followed tomorrow with the resident DJ and then on Sunday with instrument­al duo ‘Sound and Vision.’ On Sunday the club will also be featuring televised FIFA World Cup action from Qatar.

Over 55s

Instead of their usual fortnightl­y meeting on Tuesday, members and friends of the Ardsley Over 55s Club enjoyed lunch at the Lemon Tree restaurant in Barnsley.
