Christmas market

The village hall within St John’s Church is really taking shape, with a fabulous new sound and lighting installation underway. Due to the ongoing electrical works, the George Inn has kindly agreed to host the Christmas event usually held in the church on Sunday from 11.30am-4pm. Get in the Christmas spirit and join in with the Christmas market fun. There will be something for everyone including Christmas cards, gifts and decorations from local artisans. Don’t forget to book to see Santa at www.denbyvillagehall.co.uk. All proceeds raised will go to the village hall project.

Remembrance

Upper Denby village was inundated with visitors over the weekend of Remembrance to view the magnificent display provided by Denby Knitters who had toiled all year to knit and crochet poppies which were planted on the village green, and others formed into various pieces depicting the essential work by the Women’s Land Army during the war and ‘keeping the home fires burning’ by growing essential food while their menfolk and sons were serving the country.
