Kexborough Methodist Chapel

There will be no service this Sunday at the chapel. We will be joining the United Service at Emmanuel Chapel at 10am and ever yone is welcome.

Lunch club

The lunch club for over 60s is held on Tuesdays from 12-2pm. There will be a two course home made meal for £5 which includes tea and coffee. Contact Carol on 0781630850­5 for more details or if you wish to come along.

Company Girls’ Brigade

The Girls Brigade meets on Tuesday evenings from 6.30-8.30pm during term time only. This is for girls aged four to 16 years. Lots of exciting activities. Places available. Call in for details.

Karate

Karate classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm. Places available. Call in for more details.

Dance/ballet/gymnastics

Christmas coffee morning

Held next Saturday from 10am-midday. There will be stalls, cakes, cards, a raffle and a tombola. There will also be Christmas music and Christmas Band tickets will be on sale today.

Christmas Band Concert

Held on Saturday, December 17 at 7pm. Led by the Yorkshire Military Band. Tickets are £6. Tickets are available on www.bit.ly/tymbkmc or from chapel stewards. Come along and enjoy a wonderful evening of Christmas music. We give a warm welcome to everyone to come along and support us to raise funds to keep our chapel open.

Winner of the Jo-Ninety was David Richardson winning £70. Diane’s raffle was won by Jackie Dancy winning £10 and a prize draw was won by Brian Denton. Winner of the football card with Wimbledon FC was Janet Hayes winning £15.

St Michael’s Church

Rev Fiona Kouble led the 2pm baptismal service on Sunday at St Michael’s and All Angels Church. Jodie Parks was baptised first followed by infant Isaac Jacob Shaw and his godparents were Jodie Parks, Alexandra and his uncle Michael Shaw. A candle of light was presented to Jodie and Isaac

Morning service on Sunday was led by Maureen Roebuck. Bible reading was by Sue Kay and music was taped. On Monday ‘Warm Space’ for anyone who needs to keep warm, have a cup of tea and snack was from 3-6pm. The friendship group met on Tuesday morning and art group met on Wednesday afternoon. Yesterday a coffee morning was held from 10am and Bible Study in the afternoon was led by Ellie Peet. On Sunday the 10.30am service will be led by Rev Louise Dawson and will include sacrament. The good as new sale will be held next Saturday from 1.30pm.

The Christmas light switch on will take place on Thursday at Shafton and then after at Shafton’s WMC. There will be a mini fayre with some lovely festive gifts and there will also be free hot chocolate, sweets and treats. Minors must be accompanie­d by an adult. Everyone welcome.

Shafton Christmas Party

Next Sunday between 12-4pm at the Singing Man there will be a Christmas party. Pre booked tickets will be £6 per child for a visit from Santa. Time slots must be booked before the day of the party. Tickets might still be available on the day at £8 but not guaranteed. Price includes dancing, party games and a small gift from Santa. There will also

Every Wednesday from 9.30-11.30am the knit and natter group meet. Entry is £1 and includes coffee, biscuits and an art class. Everyone is welcome. Held at Dog
