Tomorrow the Christmas Fayre will be held in the Village Hall from 11am-1pm. There will be the usual stalls with a grand raffle, Santa’s Grotto, roast pork sandwiches, tea and delicious cakes. Hope to see everyone there. On Tuesday the Eucharist Service will be held at 10am and will be conducted by Canon Keith Farrow. Methodist Church

and biscuits will be served. They are now knitting scarves and blankets for the elderly and the homeless to help keep them warm this winter. If you don’t knit, you can still come along for a natter and some company. The Thursday coffee morning is held from 10-11.30am and everyone is welcome. All proceeds will go to charity.

Parish Council Meeting

The next Parish Council meeting is on Thursday at 7.30pm in the moxon room at Cawthorne Village Hall. The Budget and Finance Committee will meet to set the budget for the next financial year and to recommend the precept level next Wednesday at 10am. The public is entitled to attend any Parish Council meetings.

Cawthorne Churches working together

Starting from Thursday, there will be a large box outside both All Saints’ Church and Cawthorne Methodist Chapel to collect donations for the foodbank. We will leave the box there until December 15. It will be emptied daily. All essential items are required but also as it’s the festive season, a small box of chocolates or chocolate money for children will make a huge difference to a family and make Christmas more special. Even maybe a Christmas pudding. We can’t accept fresh or chilled products.

On Sunday eucharist was celebrated by Canon Keith Farrow and Adrian Wilkinson was responsibl­e for the music. The bible readings were read by

Sue Peaker and Trixie Welch. The next eucharist will be held next Sunday. On Tuesday morning the toddler group will meet from 9.30-11am. Holy Communion is on Thursday at 9.30am and will be led by Canon Keith. This will be followed by coffee and home made cakes. The youth group will meet on Friday from 4-8pm and will be spread over two sessions. The Christmas Market will be held in church next Saturday from 11am-3pm so please come along and support the church. Services at Dodworth and Cawthorne are normally on the first

Dearne Valley Ramblers

On Sunday there will be an eight mile guided and third Sunday in the month and at Silkstone and Hoylandswa­ine on the second and fourth Sunday in the month.

Dodworth Methodist Church

Tomorrow from 10am-12.30pm there will be a Christmas Event taking place. Keresforth Road School Choir will entertain us from 10am. There will be hot sandwiches and all things Christmas, including a cake stall and a raffle. Please come and join us, everyone welcome. On Sunday at 10am there will be a United Service at Emmanuel Methodist Church. On Wednesday and Thursday the carers and toddlers will meet at 9.30am. There will be no service next Sunday. walk through fields, woods and the TPT to Wortley Hall to spend time at the Christmas Fayre. This walk will be starting at 10am until roughly 2.30pm and booking is essential. The meeting place will be Tankersley Welfare Hall car park, Pilley Lane. Call 0775959948­3.
