Reds 3, Railwaymen 1 – February 24, 1968

Barnsley were closing in on promotion from the Fourth Division when they gained this comfortabl­e win.

John Evans, George Hamstead and Jimmy Robson put the hosts 3-0 up before a late consolatio­n.

Reds 3, Railwaymen 1 – March 24, 1979

Another vital win for a Barnsley side heading towards the third tier, this time under Allan Clarke. Derek Bell scored a penalty in the seventh minute following a handball on the line then, after the visitors levelled, Graham Pugh made it 2-1 at the break. Alan Little secured the win.

Reds 3, Railwaymen 0 – February 24, 2001

A comfortabl­e victory for Nigel Spackman’s men. Lee Jones put the hosts in front at the break then a David Wright own goal doubled the lead midway through the second half before Neil Shipperley finished the visitors off late on.

Reds 1, Railwaymen 2 – April 21, 2003

Barnsley were booed off after this Easter Monday loss which left them in the third tier relegation zone.

The hosts had taken the lead through an own goal by Clayton Ince – after Mike Sheron’s shot hit the bar then the goalkeeper – but, seconds later, Neil Sorvel levelled. Promotion-chasing Crewe’s star man Rob Hulse got the winner midway through the second half.

Reds 1, Railwaymen 2 – October 10, 2015

The second of the eventual eight-game losing run under Lee Johnson. Crewe were bottom of the league but took the lead through Ryan Colclough’s powerful free-kick. He had been fouled by Alfie Mawson who headed home the leveller. The Reds dominated the second half but Lauri Dalla Valle chested in a late winner.
