THE STRIKER was in the Burnley youth system when Michael Duff was in charge of the under 18s and under 23s.

He played three times for Clarets in the Premier League but, after several loans, moved on to Oxford United before joining Crewe in January.

The 25-year-old has six goals, including the only goals in the last two games, and two assists this season.

He will be even more important to Alex after their top-scorer Courtney Baker-Richardson suffered a long-term injury last week.

No one else in the Crewe squad has netted more than once this season.

Left-back Tariq Uwakwe has four assists.
