Sleep poverty to be tackled by club

BARNSLEY FC’s charity is supporting a programme which aims to tackle sleep poverty in the area.

Reds in the Community is backing The Sleep Charity’s programme this winter.

A spokesperson said: “More than 22 per cent of the UK population is living in poverty with reports showing that 30 per cent of families are affected by bed poverty.”

Donations of items such as mattresses, pillows, blankets and nightwear can be made through the charity’s website.
