Special visitor at Wilthorpe Park

-

A GROUP of volunteers are appealing for support after being shortlisted for a prestigious award.

The Friends of Wilthorpe Park group is thrilled to be in the running for The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award given to voluntary groups across the UK, but has put out an appeal for help.

The park on Greenfoot Lane, Barnsley, will be visited tomorrow between 9.30am and 12.30pm by Deputy Lieutenant of South Yorkshire Lady Rowena Stuart Wortley, who wants to see the park in action, but more importantly, she wants to meet people who use the park, and have benefitted from the work the volunteers have carried out or the events they’ve held.
