Stagecoach going electric in new year
NEW electric Stagecoach buses are set to be rolled out across Dearne Valley.
A total of 23 electric buses will be placed in the Dearne Valley in 2024 as part of Stagecoach’s vision to make the firm greener.
In addition, the maintenance vans used for Stagecoach’s fleet in Yorkshire are also all moving to electric, helping to reduce carbon emissions.
Matt Kitchin, managing director for Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “We know there is still a lot of work to be done, but we are pleased to have had a really good year of progress against our sustainability strategy.
“Stagecoach is continuing to play a leading role in decarbonising the sector and we are working hard towards our target to become a net zero business by 2050.”
