Centre is struck by vandalism
A HEALTH centre’s Christmas lights display has been stolen
– 24 hours after they were fitted.
Owner of The Hyde Out in Birdwell, Katherine Hyde, arrived at the venue on Monday morning for a fitness class to see a smashed window on the listed building.
Katherine told the Chronicle: “The damage done to the window costs more than usual
– most of all I’m gutted for the kids that love to come and participate in the classes and events we have.
“We fitted lit-up Christmas decorations for the children to enjoy and the thief has ripped them out of the concrete – they were hard-wired and drilled.
“They’re not even any use now so it is mindless damage.”
