BROOKSY ON BASS

-

We’ve all been there; the knackered strap, the popped-out

strap button, the whirlwind stage gymnastics that result in you heading one way and your bass going in the other. No-one tells you about straplocks when you start out, but a single accident is enough to put them at the top of your shopping list. Although they aren’t a cast-iron guarantee that calamity won’t strike, they will significantly reduce its likelihood. Straplocks come in an array of colours to match your hardware, from a long list of accessory manufacturers, and each style has its pros and cons – so shop around and find what works best for you. Some basses come fitted with the necessary hardware pre-installed, so check how your bass strap connects to your bass before filling your shopping basket.

Hot Tip: If times are tough, a pair of rubber washers from Grolsch bottles are a lifesaver!
