EXERCISE SEVEN
Once you can locate the position of the preceding triad structures, a seemingly endless stream of melodic vocabulary becomes accessible. In fact, it’s possible to stop using the scale altogether and just locate these two triads in order to access the necessary tensions. What’s more, unlike the parent scale, this vocabulary is more simple to deliver. Exercise 7 revisits the chord progression used in Exercise 5, but this time reinforces the aforementioned triad method to generate the associated groove.
