A famous fleet of red vintage lorries from Carters’ Steam Fair is soon to set off on its journey to Bath.

The free-to-attend event takes place from Saturday, August 4 until Sunday, August 19 in Royal Victoria Park. It will be open from 11am to 7pm.

Carters Steam Fair is a bold and colourful event, boasting beautiful vintage equipment from wagons to rides dating back to the 1800s.

There is plenty to amuse the children with rides, guest attractions, food, shows, stalls and wagons all on show.

The rides include the classic Jubilee Steam Gallopers - the everpopular big horses.

Other rides include the Jungle Thriller Ark and the Divebomber, and pre-school children can enjoy driving the mini Austin cars.

For those who like to be scared there is the Ghost Train.

And the Hurricane Jets is perfect for anyone wishing to practise their flying skills.

Ice cream, fish and chips, candy floss and doughnuts and other old-fashioned fare will be on sale.

Thrill rides are mostly £3, most games and family rides cost £2.50 and toddler rides average £2.

Visitors can pre-book online for special deals which give you free rides. There are also token vending machines dotted around the fair, but you’ll need to use the exact change.
