Fundraising hots up as cyclists tackle Ride Bath

-

Nearly 1,200 riders from Bath and beyond took part in the seventh Bike Bath raising thousands for charity.

Cyclists of all levels tackled a choice of 25, 50 or 80-mile routes all in aid of Dorothy House Hospice Care.

The popular annual sportive is championed by leading home builders Redrow Homes which entered a team of five riders and is also supported by many local businesses.

One of those was HPH Commercial Property which entered a team of 11 riders setting off early to avoid the heat.

The team said: “Once we had cycled up Bathford hill and were in the Wiltshire countryside it was particularly enjoyable. We were all back enjoying the atmosphere at The Rec before it got too hot and everyone was pleased with their time.”

Managing director Lindsay Holdoway said: “Year on year Bike Bath grows in popularity and it was brilliant seeing so many riders at the Rec this year for the start. The atmosphere before, during and after the ride was exceptional and the event was once again very well organised.”

Henrietta Beard, corporate fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care said: “On behalf of Dorothy House, I’d like to extend our sincere thanks to all the riders who have donated to the hospice in recent years and to Iconic Cycling Events for their tremendous support.”
