Don’t forget to submit your nominations for the 2018 Bath Sports Awards. For the seventh year, we are celebrating the local clubs, coaches, sportsmen, women and children who have been top performers over the past year. There are nine categories. They are Sports Personality of the Year; Young Sports Personality of the Year; Senior Team of the Year; Junior Team of the Year; Coach of the Year; Outstanding Services to Sport in Bath; Disability Sports Performer of the Year; Community Club of the Year and Professional Sports Personality of the Year. For the second year, Assured Mobility is sponsoring the Disability Sports Performer category, which was won by Paralympic sprinter and world record holder Sophie Kamlish last time. Assured Mobility is an independent living specialist, which provides aids for both inside and outside the home for people of all ages. David Eatwell, director at Assured Mobility, said: “We are proud to sponsor the Bath Sports Awards. We provide products and services that help the less mobile and disabled stay as independent as possible. “The product range we offer is vast and includes mobility scooters, rise and recliner chairs, profiling beds, wheelchairs, household aids, bathroom aids and footwear to name just a few. “In addition to the many products we sell, we also offer wet-room and easy-access bathroom installations, stairlift installations, hearing aid services, car hoist installation, rental services and full service and repair back-up on all mobility equipment. “We pride ourselves on our very high levels of customer service and all our staff love to go that extra mile to ensure that customers have a great experience when dealing with Assured Mobility.” When she visited their shop on Midford Road to receive a bouquet of flowers as congratulations in January, Sophie was impressed by what she saw. “Luckily, I haven’t needed to use crutches or a wheelchair for a while, but I know where to turn if the need arises,” she said. The title sponsor for this year’s awards is Stadium for Bath – the body made up of Bath Rugby, Bath Rugby Foundation and Arena 1865, working together to deliver a new stadium at the Rec. Platinum Motor Group is getting behind the Professional Sports Personality category. The Outstanding Services to Sport in Bath award is being sponsored by Bath Ales. The awards ceremony will be held at The Assembly Rooms on Bennett Street, on the night of Tuesday, November 20. Esteemed broadcaster John Inverdale will once again be our host. The deadline for entries is scheduled for Tuesday, September 4. To submit an entry and for more information, visit www.bathsportsawards.co.uk.
