» The city’s streets will be alive with entertainm­ent, shopping and dining including a summer market in Union Street from 12-8pm.

sat, JUL 21 annual amateur flower and produce show

» Green fingers get ready – Box Gardening Club hosts a village show with plenty of crafts and produce. Selwyn Hall, 2pm, £1, children go free.

sat, JUL 21 Bath Carnival

» This year’s theme is Carnival Culture and explores the traditions behind three distinct styles of carnival – Rio, Caribbean and New Orleans. Enjoy the free party in the park at Sydney Gardens from 10am to 10pm with music, acts, inflatable fun and children’s entertainm­ent. The carnival procession starts at 3pm in Great Pulteney Street and travels through the city centre before the grand finale at 4.30pm at Laura Fountain

» Follow the snail and insect trail around the garden and on Tuesdays get stuck into some pond dipping or wild woodwork at Prior Park Landscape Garden, 10am to 4.30pm. 01225 833977 or nationaltr­ust.org. uk

Bath on the Beach

» Live the Caribbean life-style with beach volleyball, games, palm trees, hammocks and cabanas, all within Royal Victoria Park, right in front of the Royal Crescent. Share fresh Mexican food, summer cocktail jugs and delicious ice cream after challengin­g your friends to a game of table tennis, boules or adventure golf. Open daily 10am to 10pm. Corston Country fair

» A traditiona­l country fair offering fun and games for all the family including a beer tent, bouncy castle, brass band, cakes, classic cars, Chuffy the train ride, tea tent, vintage tractor and everything in between. The fair in the Playing Fields opens at 2pm, £2 for adults, free for children.
