Trio of students join with academy set-up

-

Bath Rugby Academy have three more recruits in Will Britton, Jack Davies and Tom Doughty. The trio all study at the University of Bath and have had experience with Bath United in the past. Britton even made his senior debut for the Blue, Black and Whites in the 21-8 Anglo-welsh Cup victory over Newcastle Falcons at the Rec in January. The second-rower also captained the university first team for a second year in their BUCS Super Rugby Campaign, as well as playing alongside fellow Bath academy player Wil Partington for the England Students side at the end of last season. Doughty will be the uni’s rugby captain next season. The hooker came off the bench for United against Saracens Storm and has been with the England University 7s squad. Jack Davies will graduate this summer and combine playing next season with working towards a masters in business. Davies is a back-rower who can also play lock. Bath Rugby Academy manager Andy Rock said: “The opportunity to bring these three young men into our environment is something we are really excited about. “We have worked closely with them over the past year and I believe they will all end up playing an important role here at Bath Rugby in the coming season. “Our relationship with the University of Bath is continually evolving and the strength within the rugby partnership just gets better and better. “These signings are a clear example of how this part of our Pathway is developing.”
