Bid to reunite owner with trio of rings found in 2015
A woman who found a trio of gold rings in a pouch near a Bath park three years ago has restarted her bid to find the owner. Alex Machin believes the rings could be of “huge sentimental value”. She has described two of them as being gold; one is believed to be set with garnets and the other with a stunning stone which could be topaz. She found them on the cutthrough from Upper Bristol Road to Royal Victoria Park near the allotments in 2015 and put up posters, a listing on Gumtree and told the police. Only one person came forward but they turned out not to be the owner of the rings. Ms Machin told members of a Bath community group on Facebook and her post was shared some 370 times. She has been urged to give them to charity but wants to find the rightful owner. “I can’t bring myself to do that as I am sure they are of huge sentimental value to someone,” she posted in the Moorland Road is amazing! Facebook group. She has deliberately only provided a description of two of the three rings. “There is a third which I have held off giving an image out of so at least if someone does come forward and they can describe the third ring then I will be sure they are the rightful owner,” she said. “It would make me so happy to get them back to their owner and I hope the pictures may chime with someone who they either belong to or knows whose they are.” She added: “I made all the right noises. One person called up but they weren’t the right rings they were looking for. “I didn’t want to describe them fully because then anyone could claim them. I sort of gave up really.” Ms Machin said the rings are “not modern and they’re well worn”. “They probably didn’t realise that they had lost them,” she said of the owner losing the rings three years ago. Ms Machin lives in Bath and works at Hot Tomato in Frome - a company which imports fashion accessories. “I’ve got them here at my desk,” she said. “I see them every day and would love to get them back to the right person.” Are you the owner of these rings?
