Rent-free shop on offer to community groups

-

Community groups in Twerton are being offered a shop rent free in a bid to breathe new life into its High Street. And the new tenants won’t even have to worry about paying utility bills as these will all be covered too. The retail space at 115a High Street is being made available by the landlord Greenacre Capital; it was formerly a café and will be used by local traders as a pop-up shop or by charities and organisations for workshops or drop-in sessions. The available unit is approximately 1,050 sqft with a kitchenette, office and toilet facilities including baby changing. A spokesman for Greenacre said “We are really pleased to be able to make this unit available. We hope that it attracts the attention of existing or even new businesses and organisations in Bath that want to reach the Twerton community. “It would be great to see a newsagent or fruit and veg seller using it once a week or a charity like Citizens Advice Bureau or similar providing drop in sessions. “In our partnership with Bath City FC we are committed to promoting Twerton and making the High Street a vibrant place.” Greenacre is a London-based private investment company that works across property, independent living and clean energy. It has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the joint redevelopment of Bath City’s ground Twerton Park, and has bought the parade of shops on the High Street as well as a strip of land between them and the club’s car park, and is currently processing feedback from a public consultation held earlier this year.
