A charitable Kingswood School pupil is looking forward to representing the city later this year after being crowned Miss Teen Bath 2018. Georgia Miller, 16, from Batheaston, won the grand title after competing against hundreds of other hopeful girls online for the chance to take part in the final and become Miss Teen UK 2018. So far the student, who has just celebrated GCSE success after gaining 10 As and Bs, has taken her role very seriously and has helped raise more than £1,500 for a local charity. She is hoping to raise even more money for Bristol-based charity, Together for Short Lives, by holding a charity day at the school in September and has given herself a target to reach £2,000. Georgia, who is looking forward to studying for her A Levels in September, said: “I am very proud to have won the title Miss Teen Bath 2018. I love my city and I am thrilled to be able to represent such a beautiful place. I am really looking forward to taking part in the Miss Teen Great Britain finals.” The 2018 grand finals will be held at The Globe Theatre, Blackpool Pleasure Beach on Monday October 22 and Tuesday October 23. Georgia’s mum, Jo Miller, 42, said she was very proud of her daughter and can’t wait to go to the finals with her husband. The mother of two, said: “Georgia has worked really hard over the last couple of years revising for her GCSES, so this is a really nice opportunity for her to do something fun and exciting. “She did really well to win the title against the competition and I am so proud. “She is used to being on stage so she will take it in her stride. It will be great for her confidence.” Together for Short Lives is the UK’S leading charity for 49,000 children living with life-limiting conditions, and their families. The organisation supports families caring for seriously ill children and also supports the palliative care services and hospices delivering lifeline care for children. Polly Shute, director of fundraising, said: “We feel very lucky to have received such warm support from Miss Teen GB. “In just three years, entrants have raised an amazing £119,000, all of which helps us support seriously ill children and their families when they need it most. “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Miss Teen Bath and all Miss Teen GB entrants across the UK for their great work.” If you would like to help Georgia raise more for Together for Short Lives visit her Justgiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/georgiamiller
