Showcase There’s something for every business
Business experts from across the uk will gather at Ashton Gate stadium in Bristol in October for one of the region’s biggest business events. The eighth Business Showcase South West, which is supported by Chronicle publisher Reach Plc, is a free business event taking place on October 10, and it will see business leaders from across the country sharing advice and knowledge at seminars, workshops and talks. Matt Skinner, of South West marketing and branding experts Proctor + Stevenson, is hosting a growth marketing seminar. The former comedy writer said: “It’s rare that you can call these things ‘fun’ and keep a straight face, but the Business Showcase is exactly that – fun. “The quality of attendees – from start-ups to SMES to enterprises – means that there’s something for everyone, so it’s a huge thrill to be invited back to speak again. “I’m just hoping that the topic of growth strategy is slightly less depressing than my last talk on GDPR. My personal objective is to generate 85 per cent less crying.” South West-based former Royal Marine Berkeley Harris of Sandler Training served on the Royal Yacht Britannia and was in HM Forces for ten years before he started his business. His seminar is the first in the Reach Solutions Seminar Zone and is about how to attract, retain and develop millennials in your business. Berkeley said: “It’s a pleasure to be the opening seminar speaker at the upcoming showcase. For the last four years the showcase really has brought the South West business community together. I expect this October to be exactly the same – a fantastic event.” Author and speaker Nicky Marshall, who is the founder of wellbeing business Discover Your Bounce, will also be hosting a seminar. She said: “The showcase is an amazing event for networking, doing business and learning something new and it’s always in my calendar. “This year I am so excited to be presenting a new seminar and unveiling three new products on our Discover Your Bounce stand. After suffering a stroke and fully recovering, I am looking forward to sharing my insider secrets of wellbeing and success.” Linkedin expert Christian Hall will be hosting a seminar called ‘Linkedin Strategies That Deliver The Leads.’ He said: “Linkedin is the internet’s most powerful networking tool for business professionals, but turning content promotion into leads takes some crafting. I’m excited to be speaking at the evergrowing Business Showcase South West in October, where I’ll be helping like-minded Linkedin users get the most from the platform’s advertising capabilities.” Asem Din of Adds Accounting will be leading an introductory seminar on the seven ways to grow your business. Asem said: “We’re going to be discussing ways to grow and manage your business, how you can get what you need from the business and who can help you get to where you want to be.” Greg Harris will be sharing expert investment insights at his seminar. Greg, who works for family business Unividual, is hosting a seminar called ‘Alternative Investment Ideas to Build Wealth and Enhance Financial Planning.’ He said: “I hold financial planning seminars that educate and empower business owners and leaders to take charge of their financial planning. Off of the back of the feedback we have had we were thrilled to be awarded a seminar spot at the showcase.” The Business Showcase will have around 250 exhibition stands taken by businesses from across the South West and the organisers are expecting over 5,500 plus attendees. Seminars are pre-booked online and are free to attend. Sunjay Singh is a South Westbased filmmaker and the managing director of Life Media UK – the company behind films made at the Chelsea Flower Show, sporting documentaries and boosting cli- ents like Rawlings. He said: “Every time I’ve presented the demand and response has been incredible. I think this is a testament to what a fantastic show Jamie and the team puts on. This is certainly not to be missed!.” William Davis, managing director of Insight Publishers, added: “I am looking forward to speaking about the opportunities that exist to bid for the millions of pounds worth of business that are available abroad, opportunities that are so often missed by UK businesses. It is about time that we won more public procurement contracts available in Europe every year and I hope to tell you how.” For information on booking free tickets, visit www.businessshowcasesouthwest.com
