Leaders continue fine form
FC Estrella remained top of Bath & District Division 3 with Charlie Winchcomb starring in their 4-2 win over Olympic Victoria. The goalkeeper-turned-forward watched on from the bench as Chris Spurrey’s early penalty put his side ahead, before Paul Gray’s neat finish levelled it up. With Winchcomb introduced on the half-hour, he capitalised on a poor back-pass to net on the cusp of half-time, and added two more after the break to give his side a commanding lead. Chris Rogers’ close-range effort narrowed the deficit but Vics couldn’t find another against a resolute defence, with Estrella making it three wins from three this term. Welton Rangers are unbeaten in three, recording their first win of the campaign with a 6-2 success over Farrington Albion. Like Winchcomb, Rob Kearney was a hat-trick hero, coupled with goals from Jamie Knight (2) and Brad Tyler for the hosts. Bear Flat returned from a threeweek hiatus to see off Two Weir Town 5-2. Mitch Pincott (2), Tom Stevens, Liam Davies and William Cox struck for the hosts, which meant Luke Bridges and Steve Hussey’s efforts were in vain for Weir. FC Trinity bounced back from their County Cup exit with a narrow win over A Little Different in Division 2. Trinity led 2-0 inside 20 minutes before Martin Haig’s free-kick with the last kick of the half reduced the arrears. Despite all their efforts, they couldn’t net again, succumbing to a third consecutive loss. Dribuild and Roman Bathelona played out a dress rehearsal of next week’s cup tie at Lansdown in the division’s other match. Aaron Childs (2), Paul Waddle, Lew Talbot and Gary Kipling netted in an exceedingly good win for Dribuild, Adryan Patrinaj notched Bathelona’s consolation. Division 1 saw Kingsmead need a last-gasp goal from Jack Moon to rescue their first point of the campaign. Mark Taylor’s double looked to be enough for Heritage before Moon’s intervention, Mark Wall had previously netted for Steve Barnes’ men. GT and Atletico New Inn extended their winning starts to three, with only goal difference separating them at the top. Jake Baker and Jake Turpin helped GT overcome previously free-scoring Odd Down 2-0, while New Inn came out on top in the Atletico Derby, inflicting a 5-2 defeat on Bath.
