From our sponsor: BMI Bath Clinic
Hospital staff have signed up to safety and renewed their vows to patient care. Doctors, nurses, healthcare teams and support staff at BMI Bath Clinic have re-affirmed their commitment to patient safety by adding their signatures to a giant pledge. The signing at the private hospital, in Combe Down, Bath, is part of a BMI Healthcare-wide focus on continual improvement in patient care, with teams considering what changes they can make to further enhance the service they provide. Michael Katsimihas, consultant spinal surgeon at BMI Bath Clinic said: “As a consultant here in the hospital, my duty is to make sure that our patients receive the very best health outcomes and the very best care. “This hospital-wide pledge is more than just names on a piece of paper, it’s the culmination of a whole series of discussions about how we rely on each other and work together for the benefit of our patients.” Jacky Jones, executive director of BMI Bath Clinic added: “Quality underpins everything we do at BMI Bath Clinic; whether that is in direct patient care or in the systems and processes that we have to promote safe and effective health outcomes. “This is something we continue to communicate internally but has also been recognised externally. “Bath Clinic has been rated ‘good’ in all 5 assessed criteria by the Care Quality Commission and our Claverton Ward team has recently been named a finalist in the Bath & Bristol Health & Care Awards 2018.” In 2016, BMI Healthcare was the first private hospital group nationally to join the NHS’ Sign Up To Safety campaign, with its five pledges of putting safety first, continually learning, being honest, collaborating and being supportive.
