Creating your MINI is just like one-two-three
CREATING your own unique version of the MINI is about to get a lot easier thanks to a radical revamp of the brand’s trim structure across its range. From now on, buyers will be able to choose from three new model designations for all MINIS – Classic, Sport and Exclusive
The equipment offering across the MINI range has been brought into line for the first time. Standard specifications have been enhanced, with the introduction of automatic headlights with rain sensors, MINI Excitement Pack including ambient interior lighting, exterior MINI logo projection and more as standard on every model.
But personalisation remains at the core, with each of the three styles further customisable from the brand’s extensive range of exterior, interior, safety and technology options.
The Chili and Pepper packs have been discontinued, but parts of their contents are now offered within the standard specs.
However, four add-on packs remain available which include the most popular upgrades. The Navigation and Navigation Plus packs offer customers increased infotainment, navigation and online connectivity functionality while Comfort and Comfort Plus packs offer upgraded convenience and comfort features.
Priced from £16,190, the new Classic models will come with a 6.5in colour infotainment screen, intelligent emergency call, DAB digital radio and Bluetooth connectivity, ambient lighting, exterior MINI logo projection and automatic headlights with windscreen wiper rain sensor.
The Sport spec is only available with Cooper and Cooper S engines and starts at £20,230. On top of the Classic spec, Sport variants come with sports suspension and a number of John Cooper Works add-ons including an aerodynamic kit and spoiler, alloy wheels, bucket seats and steering wheel.
The Exclusive model, also priced from £20,230, builds on the Classic specification with alloy wheels, chrome line exterior finish, leather upholstery and steering wheel and upgraded interior trim. Again, the trim level is only available in combination with Cooper and Cooper S engines.
The company reckons that buyers will now be able to choose and buy a new MINI in minutes and even complete the entire buying on line, thanks to the fact that the ordering process has been refined into five simple steps.
