from city to country

in search of a rural life with Hamptons

-

Leading estate agent Hamptons International has hosted another Country Roadshow, bringing rural properties to the capital to give time-poor Londoners the opportunity to connect with country agents without having to actually leave the city.

With exclusive research from Hamptons International revealing that in the first half of 2018, Londoners bought more than 30,000 homes outside the capital – 16% more than the same period last year – demand is evidently high for those curious to know more about escaping to the country.

The event took place on October 13 across East Sheen, Clapham, Islington and Kensington branches.

The branches were bustling, filled with everyone from families to young and older couples alike. Bales of hay were strewn about, with children enjoying face painting and games.

Beautiful houses available to buy and rent – both within the commuter belt and countryside locations – were showcased, with country agents on hand to offer helpful information to those pondering making the move out of London. Discussion points ranged from areas representing the best value for money to top performing schools and commuting times.

Lesley Cairns, managing director of Hamptons International said: “Our bi-annual country roadshow is always a highlight in our calendar and our second of the year proved to be no exception.

“For those living a typically frantic London lifestyle, the opportunity to connect with our country experts and have initial conversations about leaving London without actually venturing outside of London continues to be an attractive proposition.

“At Hamptons we recognise that it is no small feat to consider uprooting in order to make your rural dreams a reality, and we are pleased to not only offer expert advice but also a more personal service.”
