Target uninsured vehicles first

-

Our forward-thinking council now proposes to introduce a charging clean air zone targeting a huge number of motorised vehicles and yet ignores the fact that, since the stupid abolition of the tax disc in 2014, there are now upwards of five million uninsured vehicles on our roads. Let’s target these first and hit the owners with life-bans and confiscation of offending cars and commercials. Next in line should be boy racers, those caught driving under the influence of drink and/ or drugs and other miscreants who ought not be allowed behind the wheel. The reduction of nitrogen dioxide levels could also be brought about by the planting of millions more trees across the nation. Another factor to consider here in Bath (soon to be a World Heritage Ghost Town) is the sheer number of uncoordinated roadworks blighting our once fair city. Take Combe Down, for example, who was the idiot responsible for the current unholy mess brought about by shutting off streets there but failing to install intelligible diversion signs? You really couldn’t make it up! I really do feel a high degree of sympathy for local residents and small businesses caught up in this mayhem. Get your act together, B&NES !!!!!
