Panto stars Rebecca Wheatley and Jenny Huxley-golden from the Theatre Royal’s Peter Pan, were the first to try out Bath’s Luxury Gift Wrapping service. Simply pop into the Luxury Gift Wrapping Station in Milsom Place and the expert team of 100 volunteers will work their magic so that your gifts are beautifully presented. Opening on Monday December 10, this wonderful service will be available up until Christmas Eve. This personal service is brought to you by the city centre businesses and Bath Business Improvement District (BID). It is free at the point of service with suggested donations being made to Julian House, the local homeless charity. With enough wrapping paper to cover Bath Abbey, there is no chance of running out any time soon. The wrapping paper has been designed to celebrate the stunning city of Bath. Available in two colour palettes – red and white or black and gold, and has iconic Bath symbols on it like the Roman Baths, Minerva Owls and the Bath Rugby posts. From students to seniors, Bath residents have volunteered to wrap presents. Companies from all across the city have come together to make this service happen. Suited & Booted, the film production company have recorded the training video for volunteers. Kate Smith from The Makery has been teaching everyone to wrap. The Ivy Brasserie hosted the training event. Milsom Place have provided shop space. Portico Designs advised on supplies and Steers Mcgillan Eves designed the wrapping paper. Actress Rebecca Wheatley, who stars as Mrs Darling in the Theatre Royal’s Peter Pan and is best known for her work in Casualty, said: “I’m a terrible Christmas wrapper so this is fantastic. “It’s a brilliant way to support the amazing work of Bath’s homeless charity Julian House by making a donation whilst getting all your Christmas presents wrapped up beautifully by experts at the same time! In the Christmas madness, we could all use an extra pair of hands and the specially-designed wrapping paper is gorgeous. “If you’re a clever expert wrapper yourself with time to spare, there’s still an opportunity to volunteer and show the rest of us how it’s done. “Or if you love the idea of someone else wrapping your gifts, as I do, this service is the answer to all your Christmas dreams.” Allison Herbert, CEO of Bath BID, said: “We want to make sure that visitors to the city have the very best customer service. “It’s a top notch service, it’s free of charge and another way for us to ensure that Christmas shopping in Bath is an extra special experience. “We have 6km of this gorgeous paper, which we worked out is just enough to cover Bath Abbey, and over 100 people trained, so we are ready, willing and able to wrap presents for everyone.”
