Pizza chain offers help to homeless
A national restaurant chain has pledged to donate 20,000 free pizzas to help those most in need this Christmas. Franco Manca is running the initiative from December 1 to 14 alongside a number of homeless charities, food banks and shelters. People can arrange an order at any one of 42 locations across the UK - including the branch in Bath. Spokesperson Sandro Spahiu said: “Charity initiatives such as this one have always been incredibly important to us here at Franco Manca. “We always strive to do our bit to give something back, and are so grateful to our wonderful employees across the UK who are always willing to pitch in to make sure as many people in need are helped. “Without them, none of this would be possible.” Suggestions of suitable organisations the chain can assist are also encouraged. During this year’s ‘Beast from the East’ storm, the company also donated thousands of pizzas to help the homeless as temperatures around the UK plummeted. The Bath branch is located in Brunel Square, near Bath Spa Station.
