City choir’s new single to aid charity

A new double single recorded by Bath’s VOX Pop & Soul Choir has been released to raise money for the Dorothy House charity. VOX Pop & Soul Choir, who are now in their 14th year, consists of singers aged 8-15 years old from Bath and the surroundin­g area who enjoying learning and performing pop, soul and rock hits. The single – I’ll Be There/rise – can be downloaded on itunes. The group are led by musical director/founder Tim King and performanc­e coach Gabby Violante, both of whom regularly perform with Tim’s Vocal Works Gospel Choir. Over the years, VOX members have gone on to become profession­al singers and actors and the choir perform concerts and at events such as the Christmas Market. Recorded by Richard Mainwaring in the studio facilities at Monkton Combe School in Bath, the songs are covers of Jess Glynne’s I’ll Be There and Jonas Blue’s Rise. Tim said: “Rise is a very catchy new release from Jonas Blue and is all about standing up for yourself despite the hurdles that life can throw at you sometimes. I’ll Be There makes an important lyrical statement of support for someone who is struggling and can be associated with many situations.” He added: “I chose the local charity Dorothy House to benefit from all of the money raised from downloads of the two songs. The staff there do so much incredible work – looking after very poorly patients with so much attention, care and love.”
