My delight at festive market’s piano
As a very keen pianist, I am so pleased that the council has permitted that a piano can be played at this year’s Christmas Market. I played this piano today, and people passing through said how lovely it was. For once, the health and safety issues were relaxed in order that people like myself can enjoy themselves without worrying about the usual stringent rules applied to pianists. Loredana Walsh
I was disappointed that the rather negative views of Sir Peter Hendy were given such prominence in a recent edition of the Bath Chronicle. I have just got back from the immensely successful Bath Tram Conference which took place at the Widcombe Social Club. There was overwhelming support for bringing trams back to Bath as part of the mass transit initiative proposed by the West of England Combined Authority (WECA). The city needs urgently to reduce traffic pollution down to legal levels - only electric traction can remove fossil fuel air contamination. I was very encouraged to hear and see representatives of all the main political parties, including Bath’s MP Wera Hobhouse (Lib Dem) and Councillor Mark Shelford (Con) discussing the issue so favourably, along with Labour and Green party members. Let’s get on with it! Mike Godwin Bath
