It’s a wrap for charity’s chief

-

The successful gift wrapping service which Bath BID ran in the lead up to the festive season has been put to the test one more time… by wrapping up Julian House fundraising director Cecil Weir! This final wrap up was a fitting end to an initiative which has raised £2,105 for the charity’s annual Christmas appeal. This is a first for Bath BID. The wrapping service operated between December 10-24 in Milsom Place. Expert volunteer wrappers were on hand and although there was no formal charge the vast majority of those using the service made voluntary donations. The volunteers had previously had training from Kate Smith from The Makery and local video production company, Suited & Booted, made a helpful ‘how to wrap presents’ video. Even the paper was specially designed by Bath Riverside company, Steersmcgillane-ves. Mr Weir was delighted at the success of the initiative. “I have seen many interesting and sometimes wacky things done to raise funds for our work but never a gift wrapping service.” Allison Herbert, chief executive of Bath BID, said: “We were bowled over by the willingness of people to get involved in this project, to help secure funds for Julian House and to provide Bath shoppers with an extra special festive service.”
