Two arrested on stabbing charge
Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Bath city centre on New Year’s Day. A man in his 20s suffered a stab wound to his leg during an incident in Avon Street in the early hours of the morning. A police cordon was set up in an area encompassing Westgate Buildings and James Street West, near Bath College shortly before 1.50am on January 1. The victim was taken to hospital and said to be in a stable condition. Avon and Somerset police said two men, aged 20 and 23 and from the Bath area, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH (grievous bodily harm). They have been released under investigation and enquiries are continuing.
