Clothing store shuts its doors

-

The clothes store Coast has closed its store in Bath city centre. A message on the front of the shop in New Bond Street tells its customers that its products can be found within two city department stores instead. In October it was announced that all 24 standalone Coast stores would be closing as the company entered administration due to “difficult trading conditions”. The firm was saved by Karen Milmajor len who vowed to keep its 145 department-store concessions trading. Pricewaterhousecoopers said: “The businesses had been facing financial difficulties due to structural challenges in the retail space.” The message on the New Bond Street store tells shoppers to find it inside Debenhams in Southgate Bath, at its new area in Jolly’s in nearby Milsom Street or in Bristol’s Cribbs Causeway.
