You can look good and feel good while helping hospice
A new range of ethical skincare and wellbeing products has been launched whose profits will fund hospice care. Bath based lifestyle brand Ubiety has grown from Dorothy House Hospice Care’s passion for holistic wellbeing and their need to create a new source of funding. The charity expects to care for more than double the number of patients by 2025. Ubiety (which means being grounded in one place as opposed to ubiquity) is offering six products that use natural ingredients and include a handwash, hand lotion, body salve, lip balm, facial mist and scented candles. The range is designed to appeal to customers of all ages who are concerned about the provenance of products and who want to give back to society. Ubiety is a fully sustainable product range that uses only vegan and environmentally-friendly ingredients such as the non-beeswax for- mulated candle and lip balm. Development and production of the Ubiety range is a local, community-focused endeavour with philanthropic support from founders including Arcania Apothecary, a cosmetic and perfume manufacturer based in Wells, who gifted their expertise and resources to develop the range. Also involved are Limelight Bath, a home fragrance manufacturer, from Bath, who produced Ubiety’s home fragrance candle with similar therapeutic benefits to the skincare products and Supple Studio in Bath who created Ubiety’s design. Marianne Cantelo, Ubiety cofounder at Dorothy House in Winsley, said: “With Arcania’s generous offer to develop a range of products for us, there was an opportunity to reflect the hospice’s emphasis on holistic care and wellbeing in a luxurious new brand that generates income for the charity.” Richard Howard, founder of Arcania Apothecary, said: “It’s easy to create an authentic luxury brand when Dorothy House’s heritage is so genuine. By bringing Ubiety to the market place we are doing something good as there is something worthwhile behind it.” Ubiety products can be bought online at www.findubiety.com.
