Hamptons International hosts annual Country Roadshow for those looking to switch the city for the country

Leading residential estate agent Hamptons International will host its first Country Roadshow of the year at four of its London branches on Saturday March 23rd. The purpose of the event is to show a selection of homes – both within the commuter belt and countryside locations - to those interested in leaving the capital. Property experts from across the network will be on hand throughout the day offering helpful information to those considering a move, at the Muswell Hill, Battersea, Chelsea and Richmond branches. Research from Hamptons International shows Londoners purchased 74,350 homes outside the capital in 2018, 3.8% more than in 2017. Broxbourne is the most popular destination for London leavers in the East of England, with nearly three quarters of homes purchased by Londoners in 2018. Sevenoaks in the South East and Bath and North East Somerset in the South West proved the most popular destinations in their regions, over half of homes purchased in these areas were by Londoners in 2018. In total, last year, Londoners purchased £30 billion worth of property outside the capital, the highest level since 2007.
