Real buzz for top employer
The Bath Chronicle January Employer of the Month award has been presented to Busy Bees. The Frome-based cleaning company were chosen as the first winners of the competition and received a feature article in the Bath Chronicle, Somerset Guardian and Frome Standard last week as well as a certificate. Craig Sheppard from Reach plc and Nicola Bullivent from award sponsors CMD Recruitment presented Amy Welch and Carol Henwood from Busy Bees with a framed certificate featuring their news story. Amy said: “It’s a sense of achievement for the team and shows that they work well together. I think it’s the recognition for our staff who all work very hard. It’s great to have that positive feedback. What a way to start the new year!” Busy Bees offers a mobile cleaning service. As well as domestic and commercial cleaning they also cover garden and outdoor maintenance, bio hazard and carpet cleaning. The business was established in 1998 by Amy and Caron, who have been friends since they were nine. They started Busy Bees with only £600 working from Amy’s dining room and Caron’s garage. Applications are now open for the February Employer of the Month award. Nominations will close at the end of the calendar month and the winner will go forward for a chance to become our Employer of the Year at this year’s Bath Business Awards. Editor of the Bath Chronicle, Emma Slee, said: “Busy Bees was a fantastic winner to kick off our new Employer of the Month initiative. We were delighted to recognise the efforts the company makes to invest in its valued staff. “We are now looking for February’s winner so please come forward if you think you are our next Employer of the Month. We are looking for companies which provide a great working environment for its staff and invest in their employees’ development.” The Employer of the Month is free to enter.
